A person who spiked sweets with sedative and gave them to minors at a youth camp in Leicestershire has confessed to sexual offenses against two young males aged nine and 10.
The defendant was arrested after eight children and a grown-up fell ill at Stathern Lodge in July.
The senior citizen, from that region, admitted guilt to a multiple criminal counts when he stood at the courthouse on recently.
Yet, he denied one of the sexual offences he was facing, which was against a nine-year-old child.
The defendant was kept in jail before a additional proceeding on 28 November.
'Candy game'
The prosecutor, handling the case, described Ruben's offending to the legal proceedings.
She said his those affected were under-privileged children who were attending a youth camp which he ran.
The defendant conducted a "candy game" with the minors, the legal counsel explained, in which he would go into the boys' rooms when they were preparing to sleep and ask them to consume candy "rapidly".
She informed the proceedings the defendant had conducted this practice with the boys "for many years", and minors had earlier experienced illness the next day.
She stated Ruben had been able to explain this repeatedly as the minors being "overstimulated by activities", until his stepchild had suspicions in July 2025.
The legal representative continued: "Recently" his stepchild had worries about the activities, justifiably.
"They chose" to examine in the man's possessions."
The prosecutor stated items including baby oil, Vaseline and injection devices were located, and his stepson alerted the authorities about his suspicions.
She explained Ruben continued to conduct the "treat game" with six boys that night - July 26th - and they were all sick the subsequent day.
"Authorities" had not arrived by that stage," she added.
The police watchdog, the investigative body, previously told that it was examining law enforcement's management of the situation.
The legal representative said the minors were struggling to walk due to their sickness, so Ruben's stepson contacted the law enforcement again.
She explained the man then conducted the "sweet game" in a space of five minors.
